A Father/Daughter Moment

Autumn's school hosted a Father/Daughter Masquerade Ball. My two got all fancied up and had a wonderful night out together. They danced and ate a ton of sweets. But, there is nothing sweeter than this duo.

    I was at the gym, having a crappy morning, and I texted my bestest pal, Stacey, "I need a hot fudge brownie with ice cream to drown my sorrows". She said if she could bring me one she would. Aww, what a good friend, right? You have no idea. She delivered this

Frozen Peas and Video Games

Autumn really started loving her Nintendo DS this week. She plays for a while when she wakes up for nap each day. And, a girl needs to eat, so she ate some peas this time. Frozen peas. Which, at first she didn't care for, but hey...when you're really into your game I guess anything will pass for a good snack. Yum.

And while Sissy was playing hard, and mommy was taking pictures, Little Sis was making a BIG ol' mess with her peanut butter pretzels. (There isn't a big enough distraction in the world to make the peas pass as good for this one)

Johnny Appleseed Day

Today was Johnny Appleseed Day at Autumn's school. I was given the job of photographer. FUN! Here is a pic of the class this morning before they got started on all of the apple activities.

Autumn started cheer today. She loved it, and kept up pretty well. We are excited to see how she does next week!

I keep getting behind on this thing. I should wait until Carleigh is a little older to commit, it sure is hard to edit and load the pictures these days. But, here we are. Back to the butterfly pictures. Grammy and Papa got Autumn a Butterfly Garden. It was an amazing thing to experience. A net enclosure, and two cans of "callerpittars" came to the house in a box. We pulled them out and there were five teeny tiny little ones in each can. First, you just watch them grow and grow, then they make their way to the top of the cans and cocoon themselves in. Once they are Chrysalids, you move them into the net enclosure and wait.. We waited, and waited. It took forever, but one by one they all hatched in a day! Autumn was beyond excited. She sat by the enclosure and watched, and waited, and waited. She never saw one actually "hatch", but we did feed them with paper towels soaked in sugar water. After 3 days we had to let them go, as we were headed to Big Bear for a four day weekend. Watch the wonderous moment unfold:

I don't think the butterflies land on just anyone. I think they were making up for our trip to the Wild Animal Park's butterfly exhibit, when not one landed on her because she was "Really yucky". Poor thing had a complex. Not anymore.

Apple-icious

Summer is finally here. And, whats more refreshing than an apple on a hot summer day?

I have a new favorite place for pictures.

Balboa Park is awesome!

I met Tony and Kelly there this Saturday and we had fun just wandering around finding fun places.

I think they will be happy with the results.

She had a great time, even earned a "Respect Check", if she gets 10 total she earns a prize. She said the very best part was painting, and eating lunch (snack) with her friends.
